The Carpaint Tester PRO works by means of a magnet which develops a variable adhesive force due to the thickness of the coating layer or filling. Using the adhesive force,the thickness of the coating layer or filling is determined in μm (micrometer) ranging from 0.0 μm to 750 μm and indicated on a 10-point colour scale. You can see at a glance whether a vehicle still has the original paint or has been primed and repainted. No matter how well repairs and repainting were done – using the Carpaint Tester PRO, you will detect any hidden failure in the future.

Coating layers that are too thin lead to decreased corrosion protection and reduced protection from mechanical damages. It is mainly after a car crash that additional coating layers are applied. Such additional coating layers worsen elasticity, adhesive force and resistance of the paint; additional coating layers tend to break open and come off. That is why the correct thickness of the coating layer is very important. Using our Carpaint Tester PRO you can easily test the coating layer.
What is the difference between the Carpaint Tester PRO and BIT3003?
You have the choice between two versions of our magnetic Car Paint Tester:
The PRO version gives you a comfortable readout of the measurement result on the VISIBLE REMAINING COLOR SCALE of the Car Paint Tester. In the BIT3003 version of the Carpaint Tester, the color scale SPRING BACK QUICKLY into the housing after the measurement has been made - this tester is therefore more COST EFFECTIVE than the PRO version.
